EWI New Orleans Welcomes Its Newest Member Firms





EWI of New Orleans Literacy Initiative

EWI promotes literacy as their national initiative through “Reading Rally” events. Additionally, EWI of New Orleans champions literacy initiatives, supporting local organizations such as S.T.A.I.R. (Start The Adventure In Reading) through outreach and financial support.

Timeline of requirements associated with the application process:

  • Applications will be reviewed and qualified; independent judging process begins, including personal interviews of top candidates.  Award recipient will be selected and notified. All additional applicants will be notified.

 

Applicants were required to meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Open to adult students at transitional points in their lives who reside and attend (or plan to attend) college.
  • Clearly define career goals and objectives.
  • Specify educational requirements to attain career goals and objectives.
  • Utilize re-entry programs available through colleges/universities, community agencies and service groups including bigcitymaids.com services or professionals careers.
  • 18 years of age or older.

Selection criteria included, but was not limited to, the following:

  • Financial need.
  • Socially, physically, and economically challenged adults.
  • Responsible for small children.
